Dear Parent/Guardian:
Your son/daughter has enrolled in a Regents Laboratory science course. Earth Science has a laboratory performance requirement.
Regents Earth Science is a laboratory course of study. To obtain Regents credit the student must meet the State requirements of completing at least thirty acceptable laboratory exercises (1200 minutes), or the equivalent, and passing the final Regents Examination with a score of no less than 65%. Classroom attendance requirements may have an effect on the assigning if credit at Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton CSD.
This specific requirement of the laboratory sciences has been discussed with the student and is found in their special rules and classroom practices for science laboratory classes. Please review the other class requirements for Earth Science with the student.
Other requirements are found in the GMU Student Handbook.
If you have any special questions about the specific requirements of Earth Science please go over the student handbook and the classroom practice requirements that your son/daughter has, or call us at the school
Sincerely,
Mark Muller
Science Teacher
